Why Belief is so important?
A few years ago I was involved in a network marketing company that looked promising, they had what appeared to be a good management team with a proven track record, the product creator was one of the top inventors in his field and all looked great.
I used the products, saw some improvement in my weight and health and started to build a business. I was doing everything the company advised.
I continued traversing the upline until I found a person that, on the surface, appeared successful, let's call her RM for the sake of things.
I started working with RM by proofreading her promotional material, creating graphics and PowerPoint presentation and event taking my data projector, laptop and remote to training nights for the benefit of the team.
Soon, the way I saw this business, product and company started to change for me and I was not totally convinced that the management team were entirely ethical.
Another concern was that a product being officially marketed as being "Nutritional Cleansing" was being promoted as a "Weight Loss Solution". All the flyers had testimonials of people who had lost a lot of weight and yet officially, it was not a weight loss product.
The dichotomy of the products official position as a "Nutritional Cleansing" beside that of the unofficial "Weight Loss Solution" started to dissolved and erode my product belief.
After getting a few people in my downline and making some money my health took a turn for the worse and I was forced to leave the traditional workforce. As soon as I told RM that I could no longer be on autoship, I was promptly told that; "If you are not on autoship, you are not serious about the business and I want nothing more to do with you, I only work with serious people.".
If I had someone come to me and say they had just had to leave work and could no longer be on autoship, I would try to find a workable solution for them, I would not just leave them in the cold and abandon them.
So, this incident, and another a few weeks later completely dissipated my belief in the team and made me seriously consider whether or not network marketing was the right business for me. I am a person with morals and ethics and what just happened to me completely opposed what I think and do.
The final event that made me decide that this was not the business for me was when I raised these issue to the management team, in writing, and I was told there was nothing they could do - there goes my final belief - the company.
So, I no longer had a belief in the product, the team, the business model or the company. I had decided to leave and research as much as I could until I found a Company that satisfied all four beliefs for me.
After 18 months of research, going to meetings, speaking with different product representatives, trying the products and collating all the results, I finally found a Company, Product, & Team that rekindled my belief in the business model of network marketing.
To be successful in Network Marketing you need to have a belief in:
- Yourself,
- The Company,
- The Product,
- The Business Model and
- The Team
If any one belief is missing, fading or being challenged with correction then you are destined to fail. It is like building a home without stable foundations, eventually it will crash and burn.
In summary, belief is paramount to success not only in Network Marketing but in life itself.
